I've been type 1 diabetic for 22 years (I'm only 23 years old) I started an insulin pump in October and ever since my blood pressure has been 190/96 the last few times I have had it tested at the hospital, but they never tell me it's only when I went to see my GP because I felt unwell that they told me. It's taken them weeks to get me an appointment to get a 24 hour monitor but I have one at home and it's always roughly the same. Has anyone got any ideas of what I can do to bring it down as it's making me feel yuck
Perhaps try...one glass of fresh beetroot juice a day, which is enough to significantly reduce blood pressure in patients with high blood pressure, and exercise, maybe going for a half hour walk every day, or run if you can, until you see a difference, takes time to get it down but it will improve if you stick at it. Other than that blood pressure tablets from the GP may help.
