Hi.I am 59, female, not overweight and I have had type 2 for about 10 years now ... good control between 4.9 - 7 depending on when taken, last HbA1c was 6mmol, and I'm on metformin x2 daily. I have had BP problems for over 20 years and on cadasartan 20mg and bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg once daily. I also have arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have been feeling unuaually unwell over the last couple of weeks with really bad headaches, and after a visit to my GP practice for diabetic bloods etc yesterday my BP was 170/90. I took it at home a few times yesterday and today but it's still hovering in the 165/88 - 158/79 range ... too high.

Has anyone else experienced a sudden spike in BP for no apparent reason? I've been told to keep a log and come back in a week to see my GP.

Your bp is rather high, I think it's a good idea to keep a detailed record of your bp and report back.

I've not experienced this myself although I do take a drug called Ramipril to keep my bp below normal levels, anyway I do hope you get your levels down soon and start to feel much better.
