Hi everyone

I am recently diagnosed in September last year . I have really good control and I keep my bloods between 5-9 most of the time . When it reaches 8and higher I get really tiered and I have headaches . What symptoms does everyone else get ?

Is this normal ?

Thank you

Yes many of us feel rough when our bg levels go high, but my bg would have to be 10 or above to feel any side-effect, a bg reading of 8mmol shouldn't really make you feel tired and lead you to having a headaches.

I would mention this to your gp or your diabetes clinic and see what they say.

Hi ,
When I have brought this up previously it's because I keep my levels so close they said that is the reason but when I research it I couldn't find a lot ! usually if I have gone to bed on 10 or higher I wake up on 5and feel like I have a hang over ! And I don't even drink !!

It's just draining for me and sometimes I can't do anything for the tiredness

But if you are keeping your bg levels in the range of 5- 9 you shouldn't really be getting headaches when your bg levels reach 8mmol (although I'm no expert), for reassurance I would double check with them again.

That hangover feeling is due to your blood dropping rapidly as you sleep and then returning to normal before you wake. It shouldn't be happening all the time though. So you've had a hypo and not been aware of it
