Hello all had a scare after doing a Radom glucose test and was horrified to read 14 mml, it has taken about 20 hrs to come down but now not so stressed as it was down to 5 mml before dinner and only 5.2 mml 2 hrs after eating dinner. I wonder what affect it will have on my HbA1c test in a couple of weeks can't see it being as low as it was 4 months ago.

I just found it such a shock to be so high, after being diagnosed I have changed the way I eat and live and was testing regular after 4 months had my HbA1c checked again and was in non diabetic range so over the last 4 months have only tested very occasionally but have kept the diet the same and have lost 25 kgs in weight in those 8 months and was just so shocked to get such a high reading, will be interesting to find out what my HbA1c will come back at in two weeks time.

A single event of high BG should have very little effect on your HbA1c.

Agree, it will have virtually no impact on your HbA1c.
