High sugar this morning

Hi.
This morning I woke at about 6 o'clock (my husbands alarm went off) and then fell back asleep for about 2 hours. I tested my sugar and it was 13.9. Before bed it was 5.6 and I had eaten quite early in the evening so it is unlikely the high was due to lack of insulin to cover my evening meal.

I was just wondering if anyone else has found their sugar to be high if they have woken up but not eaten / tested for a while in the morning?

Either that or I am thinking it was due to a hypo I didn't wake up for and my sugar rebounded.

Any thoughts would be most welcome

I've been experiencing that every morning for a while now and it's either due to dawn phenomenon or because I'm not getting enough insulin thought the night (I'm on a pump now since mid March). Was told by diabetic nurse to check BM about 3am to try establish what's going on.
