Was just thinking back to my diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. When i went to the doctors my blood sugar came up on the meter HIGH... It was too high for the meter to read i assume? But does anyone know what reading high is for the meter? I personally would class anything from my own readings over 20 as ridiculously high.

I believe it is in the region of 29 or 31. Something like that!

Personally I consider anything over 11 very high

i think my meter says its 34mmol

My nurse said that 'HI' on my meter (Glucomen LX Plus) means it's above 33mmol.

Yeah think mine goes to about mid 30's....
Only seen it go there a few times.... Few times too many I know!

I always remember seeing it the first time after I was diagnosed, thought it was broke cause I read it as H1....
Was looking for ages through the manual and everything I could find for H1 and went through so many test strips!
Learnt pretty quickly!

I think most read hi or high at about 33.3

Type 2 diagnosed 24/01/2013.
Novomix 30, Victoza, metformin 2000mg sr (but not taking them as they play havoc with my insides,

When i was diagnosed my reading was 27.9 n i was told by the diabetic nurse i was prob more than that but the machine doesnt read anymore than that! I think it depends what machine too coz im a nurse n have seen that not all the machines have same capability as you all know n have seem some read more n some jus say high etc!

It depends on your meter so you need to check the manual, but yes generally somewhere around 30.

Yeh I'd say anything above 31.0 for most uk meters. My highest read result was 50.4, fun times :/
