And the reason you post your question here is because you think its diabetes related?
If so, please explain further background, observations etc?
Eg. bg levels before and during the afternoon?
You eat what for breakfast and lunch?
You sleep well and normal during the night?
What is your occupation during the afternoon hours?
Anything else you think might be relevant for us to know about to offer any qualified advice/ideas?

Falling asleep in the day time happens to many I am sure....first time for me yesterday I decided I needed a lay down and off to sleep I went ...then later to bed as was not tired so maybe it is your body saying you need a little rest

I am the exact same but as I dont work, I just lay down for an hour then feel a million times better.

I have a messed up sleep pattern anyway but if you are needing sleep then just sleep. I have tried to stay awake but I turn into this psycho freak lol, NOT a good sight lol

The OP has only been diagnosed for a few days and I am sure the relevance of all your questions will not have sunk in yet. A bit of understanding might not go amiss?

Hi @slee2404,

Are you taking any medication for your depression and anxiety?

This sometimes makes people tired at times throughout the day. If you are experiencing this lull on a regular basis and at the same time then that might be why.
If you let forum members know about your levels throughout the day, there may be some correlation between higher levels and tiredness.

It is early days yet but people here will try and help so keep asking questions.

I think until your bg comes down a bit more you probably will feel tired mate, what are you eating for lunch? as that could be giving you a spike and making you feel tired, your job will be tiring you out while you're adjusting too xx

I agree with @Mrsass as you might need (if not already) to test 1 hour and 2 hour after eating to see how lunch is affecting your levels. I felt tired and started looking more closely at my breakfast and lunch consumption - not excessive carbs but enough to spike my levels and then feel tired later in the afternoon. Also remember to keep hydrated by drinking water to help flush your body out and it's hard to beat an ice cold glass of water
