We are holibobing in July and staying in a travelodge (classy I know) and I am unsure how to keep my spare Novorapid pen cool as we are away 6 days and with much eating out will probably need a little more insulin than usual. I havent been on holiday since diagnosis. Will a cool bag work for this length of time as it will probably (hopefully) be quite hot in July?

We are flying but staying in Britain so I will need to carry my pens and needles on me so what is the best way to transport this bearing in mind I have a very nosey 2 year old who loves nothing more than to hock through my handbags!!

Any tips would be useful thanks

I find frios good for any sort of travelling. I don't know how you keep the 2 year old out of anything though.
(google for more info, you can buy direct from the manufacturer)

I use the frio wallet too, you soak it in water and the gel inside swells up. Then as the water evaporates it cools the wallet. I find I need to top up the water every couple of days and you do need to keep them somewhere where the water can evalorate so not in a fridge or cool box.

I usually end up taking a clip lock plastic tub with my spare needles, testing strips, jelly babies etc in it. I can usually find somewhere out of the children's reach to store it. Even the back of the car or locked in the glove box works.

Maybe giving the 2 year old her own bag to carry would help you keep yours private.
