This Christmas I got a special present Diabetes, after three weeks in hospital with C-19. They can't tell me why it happened in hospital.
I have been recording 4 x daily sugars in my diary but also have a freestyle neo that holds these records too!
How long do I need to keep recording in the diary for?
Is the neo enough to take with me when I use my car? Or should I still take diary?
Sorry if silly questions but very new to this and not seen anyone since I left hospital.
 
Hi and welcome to the forum. It sounds as if you were not given very much sensible info when you left hospital. Yes, glucose meters will store your test results, but I nearly always keep a record in a notebook as well. If the poluce ever stop you, they will be interested in the meter not the notebook, as you could write down imaginary results if you wanted.

Do you have a phone number or email address for advice when you need it ? You should have been given contact details for a Diabetic Specialist Nurse at least.
 
I was given the clinic's number when I left hospital, I've rang it and it appears to be closed during the pandemic, it's like a dead line I rang the reception at my doctor they checked the number and it's correct. The nurse at the doctor's said she would make me an appointment but have yet to receive that too
 
That's not good for anyone. If you are on insulin, which you seem to be from other posts, you should have access to expert advice in case of emergency as GPs are usually not experienced in dealing with patients taking insulin. Ring the NHS emergency number 111 if you are really worried about anything..
 
Download the mySugr app on your phone (just the free one) You can input all your readingon there and it will show you trends and once it's got a resonable amount of data will give you a rough estimate of your HbAc1 (the more you test the more accurate it will be)
 
I test at least four times a day, I am getting sore finger's from all the poking some are quite reluctant with blood now too, some may say I am just being tight

I keep a written log as well as the digital one I also make notes of some meals when I have spikes, the other morning I tested when I got up and it just said high? It seems it was off the scale? Asking for a ketone test, I was back to about 8 by tea I don't know what happened with that?
I may fill all my data in on the app and see how it goes.
