An old thread I see but pertinent to me. For the last four days my sugar levels are up because I have a cold and a cough. However yes you can get sugar free cough medicine. However I don't like the use of their chemicals in conjunction with the ones I am taking and would prefer natural remedies.
Honey, hot water and lemon used to be the treatment I would turn to. Not a tablespoon of honey but a teaspoon. I am tempted but .....
Incidentally there is wrong information in this thread. Honey is not glucose but fructose and low GI.
I get Manuka Honey from Aldi it comes in different strengths, ask your doctor or pharmacist it is from New Zealand. I mix 1 teaspoon in a cup with hot water and lemon works for me, but check with your doctor first as everyone is different.
