Morning everyone

I thought my readings were settling after a few weeks but the last week or so they seem to be creeping up. My ratios are 14:1 for breakfast, 20:1 for lunch and 12:1 for dinner with 13 units of Lantus at 10pm. My 10pm reading has nearly always been in the teens but starts dropping by the time I go to bed at 11. And breakfast reading is generally always good. Could I still be honeymooning at this point? Any advice would be lovely

My honeymoon period gradually tailed off after a couple of years but I understand the period is very variable.
If your BG levels are creeping up it could be the end of your honeymoon but it could be something else: there are many things which affect our BG levels such as food, exercise, time of day, month, year, weather, stress, illness, ...
If you have not changed anything recently like food or exercise, not ill and not stressed, you may want to talk to your diabetes team about adjusting your doses ... and maybe how to calculate corrective doses.

Thanks Helen. Nothing has really changed other than me feeling really fed up with this at the moment. I just worry that I’m doing something wrong.

It is very unlikely you have done something wrong - diabetes is fickle, complex and seems to have a mind of its own.
I have had type 1 for 14 years and still learning new ways of managing it whilst not letting it take over my life.
I think it has got easier to manage over the years as testing, corrections, injections, etc. have become part of my life but very few days are perfect.
I see diabetes as a young child who I can't leave alone. Sometimes he is good. Sometimes he is bad. He is very rarely that perfect little angel you see in the ads but he does not stop me having fun.

Helen I love this what a brilliant way of describing it. Thank you, this has really helped me when I’ve had a ****** week so far. I’m pretty inpatient and put myself under pressure (in everything) to expect improvement quickly. Your post is very encouraging and positive x
