hot lemon for a cold virus ?

i have a cold i usually have lemon and honey, but now i know honey spikes my sugar does just lemon do the job just as well maybe ?
 
I’m not sure if either is any good as an actual cold remedy but for sure a hot lemon drink can be comforting and soothing.

A good slug of whisky to replace the honey will do the trick.
 
Or whisky, lemon chunk studded with cloves and top with hot water but only if you are in for the evening lol.
