I've been type 2 for 16 years but had to go on insulin this year . It took a while to get the morning/evening insulin in reasonable balance , but results have been bouncing around . This week for the first time in months we have had warmer weather and despite eating much the same food ,my bloods have been much lower , so I'm having readings of 3 to 4, very low for me .
Does anyone else find warm weather affects their readings ?
Yes...Insulin works better when you are feeling warm. DN said to me once that when ever we get first truly warm spell of weather, A & E is busy with those that are on insulin having hypos.
I've never been 'that bad' but certainly experienced it myself too. And for that same reason..I don't go into sauna if I've taken insulin within last couple of hours...I rather wait and take it little later.
