how a pump delivers insulin question

when i was on the spirit for 6 months back in 2005 i used to get 'gushers'... or just when i removed the set it would bleed, not all gushers. the sets would last about 2 days before getting sore and no insulin going in.

i now have the spirit again and it's happening again. i have bruises/bumps. bleeding loads when i remove the set. no insulin going in and my first above 33.3 on my meter since 2005!!!!!!!!

i never had this with my animas pump. never had gushers and bleeding.

i wonder if they deliver insulin different and if this is why?

i just can not get control on this pump as the insulin is not going in to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
we have a veo and havent had those problems at all not even a bleed when removing cannulas its all been quite smooth really, maybe u need to change the set earlier?? or try a different set maybe all worth a try

We have a combo and did have occlusions when using the flexlink plus cannulas, but since moving to rapid D link we have had no trouble at all. We do get the odd bubble now and then but they are quite rare. As for gushing blood, well, we have no problems there either, I don't think this is down to the pump anyway but rather the infusion set that you are using. I don't know what length needles you are using but we use the 6mm and my daughter is only a skinny little thing, maybe you could try a different length needle or a different set.

have used the same set and needle size with both pumps. nothing different except the pump.
 
When you get the E4 occlusion can you prime any insulin through the tube after you've put the pump in stop mode?

If you can't then the problem is likely to be with the way you are filling the cartridges and not the infusion sets. Does the piston rewind up and down?
