I've always read and heard from other people that stress increases bg, but lately I'm starting to notice that the higher my stress level, the better bg. Under stress, I may forget to inject insulin or eat, but for some reason bg remains within the normal range, as if my body can cope without external help, although in the absence of stress in such cases, my bg is extremely high. I thought that maybe under stress my liver does not produce enough glycogen and insulin copes better. This is really very strange, because I had a period of two weeks when I could barely force myself to eat (what I found in the refrigerator, not thinking at all about how many carbohydrates are in this food) at all and could remember that I didn't prick the basal after 5 hours, but everything was fine. And recently, in terrible stress, I ate two donuts sprinkled with sugar (!!!) and I didn't inject insulin for this, when I remembered that I had to get an injection, about an hour passed, but my bg was 8, although I expected from such a meal that the glucose meter would show "hi". Has anyone ever had something similar? Why is this happening?
