I personally inject above my navel, and right around to the sides of my stomach as well. I use my legs as well, and cover a wide area in the space of a week. The important thing is to rotate your injection sites on an extremely regular basis. Otherwise, you will get lumps where you inject, continuing to inject there will cause your insulin to be far less effective (The lumps are temporary but can take months to disappear). Also, make sure to change your needle after every injection, a blunt needle can also make it impossible to predict how much insulin has actually been administered.
