It's really clever isn't it. I couldnt get my head around why Tresiba lasted so long but makes more sense now!Awesome
I've been using it since June - it's been available since I think early last yearGreat article that one. Wonder when Degludec will be available?
Same stuff - it's more expensive than Levemir/Lantus so you'll probably need to make a case for itInteresting. Need to get on to someone about that. Thanks Robert.
PS - Your signature says Tresiba!
I'm having issues with my levemir too. Noblehead and Robert suggested tresiba so that's why I was reading up about it. I have an appointment Friday with GP and I'm going to ask for it too. I suspect he'll push for me to try lantus as it's cheaper. It's about £72 for 5 pens of tresiba vs about £42 ish for the others. ( I think- Rob posted the prices in a previously). Thanks for this information. It is great timing for me. I raised the issue of unpredictable BGs on Levemir with my DSN this morning while she was fitting a CGM to see what on earth is going on with my BGs. She was very luke warm about Tresiba - basically telling me they're waiting for trials on some of their patients to finish; that it's most suitable for people with erratic lifestyles blah blah blah. I didn't push it, but when I see my consultant next month after I know the outcome of my sensor results, I intend to make a very strong case for Tresiba and if they won't switch me to it, I'll ask to switch to the consultant who is trialling it on his patients. I might not have an erratic lifestyle but I do have erratic BGs. My Libre shows my patterns like a stormy Atlantic, so I'm hoping that will be enough to convince them. Is it much more expensive than Levemir? What arguments have others used to get on it?
