Hi Everyone I was thinking of how long I have had my contour meter almost 3 years and I wonder if it time for one how long should a meter last any ideas thanks

I've had my Freestyle Mini longer than that, about 5Years. Abbot exchanged my original MMol/l~mg/ddl convertible one for the mmol/l one. I do own a contour and a glucomen too, but I have to buy my own strips, so I'll settle for the freestyle.
Abbott replace batteries for free.

If you want a new one, write a polite letter to one of the manufacturers - 9 times out of 10 they'll send you one free of charge...

my son has been using an accu-chek compact plus, and it just packed up while he was at scholol last week.

it was two weeks old!!

Been using my medisense G2 black credit card sensor for over 14 years, never needed a battery! the best meter I have ever had for carrying in my pocket, it reads a couple of mmol high but is more accurate than the Optium Xceeds that I have which are pure garbage.

Once Abbott took over medisense the meters went down hill, my xceed's eat battery's and it is too bulky and badly designed. Probably by someone who is not diabetic!

For those that have never seen the original G2 it is the size of a credit card and 8mm thick half the thickness of the Optium Xceed.
