In T2, there may have been detectable problems with a rise in fasting blood glucose thirteen years before the occurance of T2. There are also unfortunately many people who develop it but it goes undiagnosed until complications set in.noblehead said:Mark,
I did read recently that type 2 diabetes can be undiagnosed for up to 3 years, but with type 1 I would imagine we are talking about weeks or months rather than years as the pancreas all but shuts down.
