I am T2, diagnosed in April, but didn't start on Metformin SR until June if I recall correctly. I went to the DN today and since June my HbA1C has come down 49 points, from 106 (yes!) to 57. I wondered how much of this is the meds and how much is diet/exercise-related? Is there any data/facts, e.g., "Metformin may reduce HbA1C by x%". Hope my question make sense. Thanks for any insight.
Interesting question and answer @jack412. I notice that Fallgal is taking 2000mg (2g) per day Metformin. What if you are taking 500mg a day like myself. Would the answer be to divide by 4? Ie 4.5 A1c points or .5%?
Purely after the information for my own ego as I managed to get from 93 to 56 A1c points for my first Hba1c test.
Thank you. I'm having a look at the link right now - although I find science papers a little too boring and tend to skip all the information in trying to find what I'm looking for.
