I'm very new to insulin. I'm taking about 5-6 units of Novorapid before meals & 12 units of Lantus before bed. I'm not to clued up on carb counting. Has anyone not done the course? Is there a book I can rather buy? Thanks in advance x
Currently 3u morning & 2.5u night Levemir and usually 2u Novorapid with (low carb) meals. Might sometimes have an extra unit or 2 of novorapid if required. I'm still breastfeeding my one year old but expect to increase my levemir when I manage to wean him.

Hey, there is a carb counting course called Daphne. But the carbs to kals book is great! But I defo reccommend going on the course because they teach you the basic then you can do it all yourself without anything going wrong. As you need to work out your carb ratio im on pump and mine is 1 unit for ever 5 grams of carbs, everyone is different speak to your DSN about it.
2units of levemir morning and night and occasionally 1-3 units of humalog with meals but I currently often don't need any bolus insulin when I eat low carb as I'm pretty newly diagnosed
