I'm pretty sure I had NAFLD based on my ALT test result of 62 IU/L back in January 2014 (same time I was diagnosed with type 2). After a few months of low carb/high fat eating, it was down to 27 IU/L. It's been around that level ever since, indicating my NAFLD is gone.
So, I doubt very much that a low fat diet will do anything to reverse your NAFLD based on my experience.
I have been using LCHF for 2 years now, and I have lost 4" off my waist, reduced my beer belly, and my latest blood tests done last week show my ALT as 12u/l and the other pointers are midrange. My TC has dropped from 7.9 to 4,7 and my GP seems happy with my test results.
I agree with BulkBiker above - IMO low fat will not benefit you.
Well that's what I thought. I will continue to go low carb and low sugar but haven't really thought about going low fat so will see how things go when I have routine blood tests in the future. I need to concentrate on weight loss at the moment and excercise.
