I treated myself to a treadmill now the weather has turned wet and cold, it's set up in the dining room as the room is used for high days and holidays. Looked after sons two dogs this morning, got on the treadmill and they were so confused. Their little head were going backwards and forward in time with my steps, they couldn't understand why I was walking but not going anywhere. Poor things, easily confused.
That reminds me of when my husband used to have a rowing machine - the dogs thought it was great fun and definitely set up for their benefit as his face down to licky level when he used it!
They must wonder about many of our weird and incomprehensible to canines antics - I try to think dog sometimes to imagine our shenanigans from their point of view...

Next step is to train THEM to use it and they can have their "walkies" no matter how bad the weather
p.s. they will still be advised to go outside for a pee and a poo!

Final step is to teach them to use the loo, which will save going out in the cold and wet at all. Tip: just make sure the seat's down and the lid's up though... I've heard of cats being trained to do this!!
Robbity
PS I had one dog who for nearly 13 years believed that when it was wet and cold, the weather would always be better if we tried going out through a different door.

Had a cat that would use the loo, but that's just cats!
Knew of a pup that got trained to use the cat's litter tray, but that didn't work once it became a full grown GSD, It nearly brimmed the tray
