How we used to eat.

My mother is now a diabetes paitent. She also used to have sweet and pudding every day. Now she has been cought of diabetes.

I remember wagonwheels as a kid in the 70's. Yes they were a lot bigger then.......Or was it my mouth and tummy a lot smaller then
 
I agree with the wagon wheels. When we were little they were huge
I.miss Rowntrees fruit gums in a box.they were harder and so good
They have changed the recipe now and irs not the same

Same as mars bars. They mucked about with the recipe and I never had one after that.
 
My children already have their fond memories. I used to make a dish using minced beef and macaroni...sort of savory onion mince with pasta. Topped with a rich cheese sauce....those were the days ...
 
Well my mum was a widow on a measly widows pension. I have 5 siblings and remember mostly meals consisting of Spam and Smash. Reminds me of the Monty Python ad. Curley Wurleys were bigger, Spangles and "a canny bag of Tudor" crisps were ace. Oh fond memories of poverty, dirt and NO freaking people staring into their mobile phones lol.

Nice one Tim. Nostalgia is great..measles, chickenpox and I am immune to all forms of E. Coli as our favourite play site was the landfill site down the road lol. And for crying out loud - A man can no longer get "What a Man's Gotta Chew" anymore, Toffos are no more, I loved the mint and assorted ones the best lol.

Remember the Monthy Python sketch, on the lines of "We lived in a box, there was 20 of us and then another pipes up, "in a box ..........luxury" "getting up, before they went to bed, whipped " oh just bonkers, but wasn't it fantastic bonkers ( but no relation to Sid)
 
I'm in stitches RRB. This is a cracker of a thread lol lol lol
 
4 a penny black jacks and fruit salad.and a bag of sherbet crystals that you licked your finger and stuck it in the bag and it came out on your finger
 
I'm still on here, but should be eating my dinner Spag bol, well hardly any SPAG but lots of BOL, left over from Sarturday's din dins

I used to be able to get all the chocolate off a mars bar leaving just the soft bit and the caramel. Then I would pull the caramel off leaving just the soft bit, then eat the soft bit. Can't do that now cos the caramel is too soft and sticks to the top chocolate.
 
Nothing beats Scottish ice cream. (nougat waver) was the best ever.
