I have just been moved from Novorapid to Humlin S, due to me being a crazy honeymooner whos own insulin just won't quite give up and Novorapid is just a bit to rapid for me and was wondering how people 'get on' with this insulin, any side effects etc or any thing I should know about?

I was on Humalin S - only had it changed when I was put onto a pen.
I had no problems with it, although I did notice I lost indications of low blood sugars. Used it for around 3 years.
My dad was also on it, and ended up in hospital a couple of times, with low blood sugars. But not sure if that was him messing around, cos he was going through a mildly depressive stage at the time.
I think, as long as you keep aware of when you may drop low, and make sure people around you are aware of your issue. you shouldn't have too many problems.

Have had my first injection tonight with my tea and just thought I was going to have a hypo but was BS 11, so not sure If I am just paranoid or its making me feel a bit different?

I'm using Humulin S these days because it works better on a lower carbohydrate diet, for me at least. Just as you said, I also found Humalog worked too quickly for the slower release of glucose from meals devoid of starchy carbs, so I now use it only for breakfast and lunch, with Humulin at dinner.
The Humulin seems to have a longer, flatter profile, with the only real downside being that it takes a bit longer to start acting.
I haven't had any problems with it at all. In fact I think I get slightly stronger hypo symptoms compared to Humalog.

Good luck with it!

Have been using this for 5 days now and it seems to be working better than the novorapid did, I am getting more stable lower BS levels and I am not suffering with highs 3,4,5 hours after eating like I had been. Feel a lot happier this week.
