Hi there - I hope you can help!
After literally years of going to the GP complaining about constant tiredness, becoming lightheaded when standing up, having my speech become slurred & feeling dizzy which is resolved by eating and many other symptoms, and after being tested for thyroid issues & blood pressure problems, my GP suggested this week that I may have hyperinsulinaemia.
All of my symptoms were significantly worse when I was pregnant, but I was dismissed and told to rest more. I'm pleased that this GP is taking me seriously but if I'm honest I don't know what hyperinsulinaemia is or what it means for the future. Would this diagnosis mean that I am prediabetic?
The GP has given me a list of food that I am to cut out, I'm struggling with urges/cravings and a general foggy feeling. Is it sensible to attempt cold turkey diet change, or would I be better staggering it?
Thanks in advance, I'm quite bamboozled with this.
