can anyone explain why I don't get this wiped out feeling when I have hypo's and hyper's?. when I have a hypo sometime they have been as low as 1.4 as soon as I have my 2 rich tea biscuits and cup of tea with 1 sweetner and sit for 5 mins and relax I am back to normal and carry on with whatever I was doing, same goes for hyper's in the twenty's I drink 1 pint of water and carry on and i'm fine.? is this normal, i'm type 1, diagnosed 2yrs now, have been like this from day 1.

I do not suffer any after effects of hypo's and as far as hypers are concerned, I've not had blood sugars that high since diagnosis. I think that in the main your body probably copes with the odd sugar spike but if you stayed in the 20's for a while then you'd notice it.

think it can depend on how fast the hypo comes on, sometimes I feel fine but others if they come on suddenly or have a few in a single day I feel like just curling up and going to sleep

I have managed now to keep my bg levels in single figures now with the odd high (not sure how or why they suddenly spike like that), I keep to what I think is a low carb diet, ie 80g carb a day, I do feel them coming on, they range from 1.4-3.8, varys. just thought it ws a bit strange that I don't feel unwell/tired, not that i'm complaining.

Mostly I dont feel hypos I just feel hungry after a while but sometimes I get so dizzy I cant stand up, it just depend on what caused the hypo I think

It very much depends on the person. I started a thread a few weeks back that raised the same question. Basically some people get wiped out and others don't. I've always been one of the ones that doesn't.
