I moved to the adult clinic in July last year and had my Hba1c done and it was 12.0. It didn't surprise me at all because my bloods were in their 20's most of the time I just couldnt control it. I use to have my insulin and I use to crave quite alot for food. The doctor then suggested the Dafne Course to me and I thought it would be a great idea so went to the recruitment evening for it and I got a place on it
I did it last week I learnt so much. I knew quite abit of it because I have been diagnosed since I was 5 but they explained it alot more then what I have been told in the past. I also met other people who are diabetic and that helped alot because before I thought I was the only diabetic which obviously isn't true I feel so much better in myself. All week my blood sugars were quite good better then they have ever been all weekend they have been perfect as well I really want it to stay in control now though and if I didn't do the Dafne course then I dont think I would have been able to get them back in control. It helps counting the carbs as well
