I don't like being diabetic

As I replied on a previous post. The NICE guidelines since 2015 advocate all type 1s being on a basal/bolus regime and carb counting not on a mixed insulin. No wonder you are fed up @Julia is a type 1 diabetic you are so restricted.
 
I was put on a mixed insulin dose initially while my endo was waiting for outcome of c-peptide and GAD Ab tests. Made me feel better but not sure it made a huge dent in my BG control, as I didn't have a fixed regime and was traveling across timezones. Once results back and confirmed me as a Type 1 I've been on MDI (basal/bolus) since. More injections, requires more carb counting, but way more flexible. Do ask your diabetic team about this.
