I just want a rant (not diabetes related)

My OH was diagnosed with angina in 2011 but he has Parkinsons and the heart doctor didn't take this into account, i.e. putting him on a treadmill (that didn't last long I can assure you). Parkinsons and 'angina like symptoms' are all part and parcel. Heart Doc asked him very condescending how much exercise he did, OH said 30 lengths of the swimming pool 3 times a week, should have seen the docs face. He was put on Tardisc which was to lower his heart rate (he has never had high BP or heart rate) so consequently his blood pressure hit the floor and he frequently comes over dizzy and the blood drains from his face. He has to sit down and recover. At his Well Man appointment two weeks ago the nurse bought up the subject of his BP being too low and said she would get a doctor to telephone him. She (we are on first name terms) called and advised him to only take 1/2 tablet a day and will follow up with another phone call. Only taking 1/2 tablet his highest BP was 107/65 and his lowest 85/53. Different doc phoned today (one I've not met before) and told him that his BP is fine but he should be taking a statin and aspirin. OH said that is not what this conversation is about but he wouldn't stop pushing the statins.

I have been fuming over this all day and want OH to make an appointment with Lauren but he doesn't want to step on anyones toes.

OK I've had my rant but it doesn't make me feel any better.

Oh dear - what a nightmare for you both - sorry have no advice other than tell your hubby he needs to be stomping all over toes and not be bothered about seeing somebody you both trust - nobody cares about our health as much as we do ourselves (())

Rant away, you both have good cause. That's the problem when one has multiple conditions, consultants tend to specialise in just one condition and sometimes barely have knowledge of other conditions only half remembered from medical school. Hope hubby gets sorted soon, Lauren sounds like a great nurse.
