I like lchf but I am gaining weight

Thanks@chalup, I knew that peanuts were legumes but didn't realise that cashews were the same. I had been very strict about weighing out 25g at a time but that went out of the window so I think that they are best avoided.

Hi @Brunneria I heared the pennies dropping I cut out all of the obvious carbs so had no bread, potatoes, pasta, rice or added sugar. I stopped having milk and started to have cream in my coffee, this as lovely so my coffee consumption went up. I refused to buy anything with more than 5g carb per 100g of product apart from cashew nuts that jumped into my trolley about three months in.
I was testing religiously and if something caused a leap I stopped eating it. That's how I discovered that leeks are relatively high in carbs. I stopped eating fruit apart from strawberries which I had with double cream.

Sorry @Brunneria that reply went too early. I realised that what you said made perfect sense, went back to add bit about pennies dropping and my fat fingers landed on the post button by mistake. I bet that I was having lots of hidden carbs without realising. I was absolutely committed to avoiding obvious carbs but I didn't even look at the carbs in vegetables, I even gave up fruit because of the sugar. I recognise that I was having far too much fat though. I will get there I'm sure.

Hi @GrantGam I went for a walk round the park yesterday, I will make more of an effort to walk for fun. X

You could try swapping single cream for your double. Double can be over 400 calories per 100g, single less than 100.

I'm sure once you start getting out regularly, you'll wonder why you hadn't done it all along

Excercise is not only good for your physical wellbeing, but also your mental state. We live in a digital society that involves sitting in front of screens or other digital interfaces for prolonged periods. Whether that be a PC, television or checkout. Getting out and about it just as important for the mind as it is for the body

Good on you! You've already done the hardest part. I wish you all the best @Swiggy.

Hi Can you tell me what protein bread you have I really miss toast and I do not like Bergen bread or Lidl rolls

Thanks Mark_1 I didn't know that. You've made my day. That's something I will look forward to trying in 55 days time lol. X

My new rain jacket arrived this morning so I have no excuse for staying in even though it's pouring down lol. It's far too easy to use the car @GrantGam but I will make those changes. X

Warburton do a protein small cut loaf. Lovely and soft and springy! Lovely toasted too. Some supermarkets are doing their own which are still less than 10g per slice and per 100g.
I've stopped buying rolls in preference for a sliced loaf.
I've enjoyed a soya and linseed loaf too in protein bread absence. Even thou not recommended for my thyroid.
