Agree. I have just tried to make some ice cream but obviously hadn't left the bowl in the freezer for long enough. Am now attempting to turn it into mousse! Why not make your own, its not difficult. Eggs, cream, full fat milk and the same 'sweetener' you use for baking. The biggest problem is getting enough space in the freezer and planning ahead to ensure my ice cream maker is properly frozen.
As @noblehead said, Oppo is a good and tasty option. I think the vanilla flavour has approx. 7.5g carbs / 100g. They also do a salted caramel and choc mint option which are higher but still low for ice cream. Available in Waitrose if @KevinPotts hasn't cleared out the entire supply
I don't think many people here would eat it anyway. I have been having a battle with Waitrose as I thought anything labelled "Diabetic" was now banned.. they seem to be down to their last tub in my local store and have started stocking Oppo so that's where my pennies are going...Hello. I just wondered if anybody had found that Franks diabetic icecream had a laxative effect? Thank you
I much prefer Double thick jersey cream, put in the freezer the night before
Have you checked recently.. they have just started stocking it in my local for about the past month maybe less.. before that I had to go to Hove for it. I think Oppo did publicise that more Waitrose branches were having it. It was all sold out at my local recently due to the £3.74 per tub offer..@bulkbiker I have the same problem with my local Waitrose, they seem to have some fairly antique franks and no Oppo. That said, it is so long since I last ate ice cream I doubt I will. I much prefer Double thick jersey cream, put in the freezer the night before
Yes, I'm lazy!@walnut_face is this all you do ? Really? Freeze double cream? I'll try that. Thank you
