Having only been diagnosed a few weeks, I’m still getting my head around everything but with this hot weather I just thought - will I ever be able to have an ice cream again!
I suppose I can just calculate carbs and inject but any pitfalls to watch out for? Better after a meal with protein I presume?
Seems a silly thing to focus on but I’m curious.. do any of you indulge in a summer ice cream?
Whilst I have no experience of Type 3c I can at least say that ice cream, as opposed to water ice lollies, contains fat, which slows down metabolism. Otherwise I can't see why, if you are on insulin, you can't eat ice cream in the way you have suggested. I hope another Type 3c can give you positive advice!
