Hi Ladybird.

Lumbar puncture wasn't as bad as I expected and we have a result. Raised pressure which is causing the migraines. It's treatable and I will see the consultant in a few weeks time. Now it's back to bed.

You must be relieved to have a cause for the migraines Sue, very glad to hear it can be sorted out for you. Try and take it easy in the meantime. x

I'm much much better but am definitely still feeling the effects, was out and about today on good old London Transport..by the time I got home I was exhausted. I really do want to get back to normal, I'm afraid I'm a very impatient patient!

I recently had PVFS and I can remember feeling very impatient and frustrated at not being able to do the things I normally do. The hardest part was not knowing when it was going to end. I tried to pace myself each day - only doing the essentials because I knew I would run out of energy after an hour or so. Then I would rest for a few hours until the energy came back. In my head I knew it would eventually get better but deep down I didn't believe that.

Hope you are feeling better soon. The body takes its own time to heal.

After my hysterectomy I was given some sound, sensible advice by my GP. I was instructed to set daily targets and once I had done them to give myself a pat on the back and feel satisfied at my achievement. It worked, I started with simple things and over a period of several weeks built it up. There was plenty of rest with the daily targets too.

I am very relieved to have a diagnosis at last. I have had migraine attacks since I was 16 and as I am now 50 and lots of bits, it's been a long haul. Now that I know what's causing it I can move on. I still have a few days of taking it easy - I don't do taking it easy ! - and can understand how frustrating it can be, when you can't do things.
