My local medical centre has imposed the type of blood meter I can have, A Nexus RX I was quite happy with my old meter but was told the cost of blood strips was too high, I was able to print out my results.
So the supplied the meter came from the medical Centre. So I no longer have any choice, has this happened to anyone else?
 
My gp surgery did a this is the meter and we will only supply strips for it, I made an appointment with gp and asked him to check up cost for my next contour USB and the new meter there was 20p difference, I told him I would lay the surgery the difference. I got my usual strips no problem no cost to me. It is worth a try
 
We were issued with them en mass last year. It's accuracy appears to be as good as the one it replaced.
