I,m suffering terribly with indigestion so sucked on a gaviscon. Wow it shot my bs level up

If you suffer regularly with indigestion or heartburn, it may be worth you speaking to GP for something like Omeprazole/Lanzoprazole. I know Tescos sell tablets for it but you have to check any meds with what you are already taking.
Hope it settles soon.

Thank you, I, m seeing my gp soon so shall ask him

I did not know Gaviscon would make your suger level rise...I have lansoprozole which I take mornings before breakfast as I have a hiatus hernia which I have had since quite young...hope you get it sorted I know it can be awfull

yes the other thing with gaviscon that my pharmacist reminds me of is that it isn't supposed to be taken within 2 hours of taking other medications because it interferes with absorption. So if you happen to take any medication for diabetes then that would explain the high BGL. I have various digestive issues myself and my doc has me on PPI's. I've been on various types over the years and currently taking Pariet. I think the best one for me was nexium though (esomeprazole). I agree to discuss with your doc to get some help especially if it is an ongoing thing for you.
