Type 1 Infection

Hi I'm type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump I've had to go to the Drs yesterday , as my lower back near my kidney is hurting . My dr tested my urine and said I have an infection . So I'm on antibiotics. The Dr said , to me have you ever had this pain before I said no he was taken back as I was diabetic has any one else experienced pain on the lower side of back near your kidney
