Good afternoon.
I'm quite new to insulin and have a question about storage.
I want to go on a day trip and so my NovoRapid would come with me.
Is it ok to sit in my handbag all day?
I'm in England, so it's not exactly the Med!
At home, it sits in a box with other meds. It's not a warm home (around 15-17 degrees max inside) as I need a jumper all day.
Hi @bellapodus, it'd be fine in your handbag if you're concerned about it or if it's hot (in the summer or you're going abroad at any point etc) you could use a frio wallet, you soak it in water and then evaporation keeps your insulin a bit cooler, not as cool as a fridge though.
Definitely no problem to take the insulin with you.
When you insulin is in use, it is not recommended to keep your pens in the fridge - it can cause bubbles and may be more painful to inject cold insulin than room temperature insulin.
