Insulin dozes

I am Type II diabetic and taking LANTUS insulin 12 unit per day at night, along with Metformin 500 two times and Gliclazide ( Amaryl 2mg two times)
I would like to know if I can increase / decrease the Lantus doze temporarily on any day - depending upon the quantity of food - sayspecil party occassion.
 
hi, im not too sure about type 2 but as a type 1 on lantus, i have found after altering my dose it takes 2 or 3 days to show, hopefully another type 2 will be along soon
 
I was on lantus and had to increase or decrease in stages of 10% each time, there was always a three day gap before changing the dose again, if you get to the right level, you should not need to change it.
