I am on Lantus and Apidra, both pens say they have a 30 day shelf life from opening, when first diagnosed a year ago I was told to stop using if it went cloudy.

The issue is that I only use 60 units of lantus in 30 days, plus 60 units ensuring no air pockets, therefore there are 180 unused units after 30 days and it seems a waste, is my Lantus no good after 30 days or can it carry on being used?

No don't use it after 30 days and just throw the cartridge away and start a new one, the insulin begins to deteriorate after this time so it's not worth the risk. Just be sure in this warm weather to keep your insulin cool, the Frio Wallets are ideal and can last up to a week before you have to re-soak the crystals.
