Insulin patches may be a big help to some.
Some of the comments at the end do show 'a certain ignorance' regarding the condition.

Interesting article, as you say, it's a shame that the ignorant can be so confident when letting everyone know how stupid they are.

I suppose if you're out "socialising" in an attempt to cut your chances of diabetes by 40%, (Daily Express, Dec 19 headline.)
There just isn't the time to read up & make those informed choices...
