Hello
I have had an Accu-chek insulin pump since 2008 (Spirit then Combo), and love it.
I have booked to take the family to Lapland for next Christmas and the temperatures at that time of year can be as low as -30 degrees.
I want to make sure that I am fully prepared, so I am looking for help and advice to ensure I don't miss/forget anything.
1. Will the pump work at these temperatures?
2. Will the meter work at these temperatures?
3. How to protect the meter to keep it working?
4. etc. etc.
Do you know of any resources that can help me (leaflets or links to websites/ videos etc.?
Do you know of any other resources elsewhere that can help?
I was working outside during last week's cold spell, the pump was fine as it's next to my body, I did have a problem with the handset which was inside a pair of wollen gloves inside my bag inside the works van and I had to warm it up for 10 mins under my furry hat lol, so the next day I wore a lycra running belt which had lots of pockets for my pump and handset and all three of us were toastie.
