Hi, ive been a type one diabetic for 25 years. Im currently on Levemir and Novo Rapid, I want to be put onto the pump but I am struggling with getting a referral from my Diabetes team, for almost 5 years ive been asking about being put onto a pump and ive been ignored everytime I feel like they just dont want to listen to me.
My HBA1C used to be in the 100s but only the course of 10 years ive got them down to 80, but im still struggling and I dont know how many times I tell them all I get told is to try and control my diabetes... so helpful.
Well I finally got a reply from the diabetes team who said they cannot refer me as they are not funded by the NHS to do it so I need to go through my GP.

I guess what im asking is, has anyone had the same experience and what did you do to get a referral?

I guess my next step would be to try and go directly through the hospital if the GP do not want to refer me, which the GP claimed I had to go through my diabetes care team..
Im so confused with all this but I have 2 kids and I dont want to keep struggling with my diabetes and I really want help
