Hi all I'm type 1 have been for 16 yrs struggling to gain control my specialist today said I'd be eligible for an insulin pump once I've done the daphne course! Are they hard to get the hang of? I'm really wanting to give it ago but nervous as well it'll be a few months before I get one!

Technically if you can use a smart phone you can cope with the technology. There is quite a bit of work to put in thoughto make it work.
I wouldn't give mine back now. It looks the most unnatural thing but gives the most freedom I've had in years. You can change your background insulin so a stressful day or active say can be catered for to give you more control.

Best thing ever for me.

I have had my insulin pump for a week now and OMG what a difference I struggled for years with bs levels due to shift work poor care team and just a general lack of willing on my part, in November I moved hospital and was asked if I would consider a pump the obvious answer was yes I had to go and see the dietician once a month attend the FIFE (daphne in Scotland ) course and show willing and it has been a rapid path and I am amazed at the results if i see a double digit bs I now wonder what is wrong my state of mind has improved greatly I feel so much better in myself I actually get up In the mornings having had a sleep and able to do things an amazing transformation from 6 months ago,if you have the drive and motivation you will be able to do daphne I'm sure and the difference it makes is outstanding

Good luck
