None of us are perfect.Well know vegan activist ...and he has no eyebrows...!
Oops sorry still a vegan proselytiser tho...I understand the lack of eyebrows are due to alopecia, which is an autoimmune disease, like T1.
Hey all thanks for you answers , I still get nervous sometimes if I am doing the right thing eating that much fat and so on , this High fat low carb is still very contradicting to what I have been told over the years , so when I see people talking against it I start daupting this strategy , you know all the talk of cancer when eating very much bacon and that people live shorter lives when eating High amount of red meat ...
And are we okay just because our blood glucose is in normal range and what happened to the advice of eating High fibres and lots and lots of Vegs and fruits
Me too as only autoimmune attacks have occurred when I've had a high carb diet. My organ health is good but high carbs affect my liver.Hey all thanks for you answers , I still get nervous sometimes if I am doing the right thing eating that much fat and so on , this High fat low carb is still very contradicting to what I have been told over the years , so when I see people talking against it I start daupting this strategy , you know all the talk of cancer when eating very much bacon and that people live shorter lives when eating High amount of red meat ...

A bit neuropathy after 40+yrs of diabetes due to high carb diet periods.... mostly due to finances.
Fat does effect insulin as insulin has a slower job to metabolise due to fat slowing digestion down.
Fat doesn't satisfy me. Too much makes me vomit as I guess I have slow digestion. So adding fat to slow it down more causes a back up of food not digested... for me.
Any fat eater has to do alot of exercise to process the fat quicker.
No exercise then needs less fat.
For me I see a huge difference when I can walk and when I can't. Definitely same diet so only variant is walking.I'm not quite sure I understand your link between digesting fats and excercise.

I have to take MORE insulin in no walking days. Not more fat.
We are all idiosyncratic, I suppose, even when there are generalisations. Without high fats I would be devoid of energy which would lead to even less activity and even more weight loss. It seems we are at opposite ends of the spectrum but then I have no Thyroid problem to add to the mix so I guess this makes a helluva difference.ickidost: 1778882 said:I'd love it if MORE fat reduced my bgs instead of insulin.
I'd be in heaven. As others too, I'm sure.
The fact is nothing can replace physical activity. Appetite suppressants (metformin and some other new type2 meds) are just that.
The exercise for me has to not be stressful or hormones kick in and the liver and muscles dump too.
Fat is important in a healthy diet or the body suffers. Artifical fats e.g Margarine doesn't process in the same way.
I havent eaten margarine as part of my diet for years. Even before joining here. I just didn't use it nor have toast without cheese or egg.
I love the fact lchf works for diabetics who have no other autoimmune problem.
My underactive thyroid is very kind in helping with cholesterol levels and kidney health. I'm still not sure how it does it but it does. Maybe a protection from heart damage. Again my heart is perfect and I'm working hard to keep it that way.
I have never been ultra low fat but when I was on orilstat recently it SLOWED my weight loss and then I had a few jelly treats at Halloween and my weight loss stalled. So ultra low fat diet on low carb for me wasn't as effective as medium fat and low carb. Vegtables with butter and seasonings were a great help as of eggs. 1 or 2 of protein slices were ok but any more and too frequently reduced my weight loss.
Pure meats and fish were very filling and replaced majority of carbs for me.
I was eating high protein, low carb and medium fat with limited veg not unlimited.
