Insulin Resistance??

hi everyone, new to this. Since I had my baby just over a year ago I have stayed resistant to the insulin I am on. For instance for 2 pieces of toast I am putting in 12 units where as the carbs book that I use to use says 5 units.

I am 25 and noticed that I am putting on weight now because of the large amount of insulin I am putting in at one time it can be like 18 units for a main meal sometimes and it is storing it all as fat as I have been told.

Anyone had this before and can offer advise, waiting to here from my consultant to see if I need to change insulin.

Sorry for the long post

Welcome @Annie_149

There are some type 1 members on the forum with IR who also take the drug Metformin, although it's a drug prescribed to type 2's it's sometimes prescribed to type 1's with IR, worth enquiring about it anyway. Good luck.
