How can you reduce insulin resistance especially before time of the month!

Many of us find we need more insulin in the days before menstruation, it's very common!
For me it's the other way around, I drastically need to reduce my insulin doses before that time of month, or at least I did until recently. I'm 47 now, and periods have been rather random, and so have their effects in the last 6 months.
I adjust my doses as soon as I see it's one of those days.

You might want to contact your diabetes nurse on how to adjust your basal insulin and/or insulin to carbs ratios on those days.

Not always ideal especially at night but the only certain way I can regain insulin sensitivity is to go for a 20+ min walk. Tried exercise bike but it didn’t work.

Also reducing the fats in my diet helps a bit.
