I am on Insulin Humulin M3 Kwik pen and was given no instruction whether to take it before or after meals so which is it?
 
Thats a mixed insulin, 30%/70% and is usually taken twice a day at breakfast and evening meal, I don't know for sure but I think just either side of the meal would be fine. But if you're in any doubt I'd contact your DSN for clarity.
 
Hi @ICC will agree with @slip on this one, Humalin is a mixed insulin. I would imagine it would make very littel difference if taken before or just after eating BUT check with you DSN
 
Hi. I take humulin as well. I take it half an hour before breakfast and half an hour before my evening meal. This was what I was told by the diabetic unit. Seems to work for me.
 
When I was on a mixed insulin, that was when I was advised to take it too. It worked very well for me.
