insulin

Hi everybody, I've just joined this forum and am hoping somebody can answer this question for me. Why is it that sometimes when I inject I can taste insulin in the back of my throat? Does this happen to anyone else or am I just weird?

Hi sillynanny and welcome to the forum I am not an insulin user myself so can't answer your question but I'm sure some members who are using insulin will come along soon and share their experiences with you. In the meantime, here is some information we give to new members to the forum. Ask as many questions as you like as someone will probably know the answer.

Very strange..

When you inject can you smell the insulin? When i used to inject if some leaked back out after injecting i could smell it pretty well for such a small amount.

Maybe if your sense of smell is very good then what you are smelling is leading to you 'tasting' the insulin, the two senses are linked extremely closely and i do believe you cannot taste without a sense of smell? please correct me if i'm wrong?
