Well this morning has been eventful!!!!

Woke up to 3 paramedics at my bedside, apparently my hypo warranted an ambulance AND rapid responder this morning!!!!

Went into hospital and it wasnt only my sugars that was low... it was my temperature too

This is how good my hospital is... I went in because of a really bad hypo (usually my hubby is good at dealing with them and has no issues with administering glucogon)... my sugars got as far as 3.3 then they let me home!!!!! Got home now they are 2.8 my pump has been suspended since 9am this morning and i still cant get my sugars up
 
I am surprised that A&E let you out with a 3.3mmol/l!

I've only know my husband to need admittance to A&E once and that was 17 months ago he had a hypo while out with the dogs, and by the time Jones (one of my dogs) got home to rise the alarm, and we located and got the paramedic's to him. He was unconscious and suffering from hypothermia to had to the drama... Took almost an hour to stabilise the hypo at the roadside which ended up with 1 ambulance crew, 2 fast response and 2 police officers... Then they blue lighted hubby into A&E for hypothermia treatment... He wasn't allowed out until his core temperature reached normal, and he had series of blood tests, heart monitoring and chest x-rays and goodness not what else they came up with... And they were convinced he was stable!

So has you said very odd for you to be allowed home..

The only reason I can think of causing the lack of getting your levels back up, is based on Addison's disease, if you've been experiencing hypo's that hit quick and you'll using a large amount of carbs getting out of them then doesn't matter how much you'll eating you can't seem to keep your levels up... Addison's is a consideration..

But sometimes you just get days like this, without any explanation to why!
 
that sounds like quite an ordeal... hopefully your BGLs come back up to normal. It certainly doesn't make you feel good when you're too low. Is the fact that your core temp is low contributing to your BGLs being too low? I know that when it's cooler temps here I tend to get lower BGLs. When it's hot I get higher BGLs. If it doesn't increase it may be a good idea to get yourself back to the hospital or for some sort of medical treatment as it's dangerous having low BGLs... not good for your brain and the rest of your body. It's taken over 6 hours to get my sugars to 4.3 before paramedics i had 3c glucogels, 1lt lucozade, full packet dextros tablets, honey and glucogon injection... paramedics gave me 300ml glucose and at hospial i had another glass of lucozade, another glucogel, sandwich and after more lucozade, snickers, packet of revels, packet of skittles lol

Before pump I would have bad hypos requiring glucogon +excessive sugar at a rate of 3x per month or more but luckyly have got it down to 1-2x per month now however my hubby last night emptied the house and when we run out it was a case of he had to call 999 especially with me being pregnant which is lowering my blood sugar levels also

@jopar you mentioned addisons? a few people have mentioned this in the past and i mentioned it to my doc in december but he said unlikely, however after a little investigation I do suffer a number of "symptoms" so may mention it again on tuesday when i see the team again, probably not but Id like them to at least test me to rule it out

And I will be writing to complain about A&E, my hubby was going to call for an ambulance again, but as I was aware of what was going on I didnt want to waste their time, the paramedics do a fantastic job and seem to know more about diabetes than the docs do lol

Shame on the hospital for letting you home before your bg was normalised, hope tonight and the morning goes without incident for you!
